Advanced New Outlook (was Mail) email

Clean up unwanted email messages in New Outlook (replacing old Mail app): Either view unwanted messages by sorting them alphabetically using the ‘From’ field, or searching for for an email address in the Search box. To sort, click on the filter icon at the top of the main pane and select Sort ❯ From (and then once, you have deleted emails return it to Sort ❯ Date). To select lots of emails to delete from say Amazon. Click on the first, hold down the Shift key then Arrow key down to select a block to delete. To search, type the email address into the search box and delete from there

Move email messages in New Outlook (replacing old Mail app): Click on ‘Inbox’ folder (or another folder) and select the email you want to move, click on the folder icon in the Home ribbon then either type the folder in the ‘Search for a folder’ box, click on Deleted or other named folder, create a new folder or click ‘Move to a different folder’ to reveal all the folders in your Outlook and select one

Search for an email message in New Outlook (replacing old Mail app): Click in the search box at the top, type then click on the magnifying glass icon or press Enter. For more options click the filter icon to expand the search box, where you can make changes then click ‘Search’

Create or delete a folder in New Outlook (replacing old Mail app): To add a new folder – right click over the account then click ‘Create new folder’. To delete a folder, right click on it and click ‘Delete folder’

Advanced e.g. out-of-office response in New Outlook (replacing old Mail app): Open Settings (click on cog icon – top right) ❯ Accounts ❯ Automatic replies – Turn on automatic replices for the chosen account, add the message in the text box. Click ‘Send replies only during a time period’ as required, (‘Send replies inside your organisation’ refers to contacts in the account) click ‘Save’
