Preparation check list

Check account info: the Tomtie Toolkit should have relevant account details: Apple ID, Norton account, Google Account (where needed), WiFi password

Backup to iCloud.com: Check iCloud.com is set to sync as required. Open Settings ❯ iCloud then view the options for files, folders plus Photos, Passwords & Keychain, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders and Notes from the current Mac computer. Also check TimeMachine is up to date and available to transfer files and settings to the new Mac if wanted

Backup to OneDrive: If OneDrive is synced on current MacOS computer check all files are on the OneDrive server by signing in

Decide on a name and a local account password for the Mac: Write down the name and password (can be numbers) to unlock the Mac locally, and write them down on the ‘My Mac’ page in the Tomtie Toolkit

Complete ‘My Mac’ page in the Tomtie Toolkit: Write down warranty information etc.

Clear and dust: Vacuum and wipe over the area where the new Mac will be

Unpack and assemble: Read through ‘Start guide’ and plug in

Check broadband speed: Use speedtest.net to measure the Wifi broadband download speed and note down
