Organise desktop Monterey: Right click on the desktop and try out the options. If there are lots of screenshots and files put them into stacks. Open Finder and select Desktop in the sidebar. Look through what is there and move useful photos, documents and pdf’s by dragging and dropping them to clearly labelled folders either using columns view or with a second Finder window. Delete the unwanted files and app shortcuts (why not drag them to the Dock instead – right click to see the option?). If you have left some files on the desktop click the desktop, choose View ❯ Sort By, then choose an option. If you want to control the placement of your files on the desktop, keep Sort By set to none. You can still arrange files neatly when desired — just click the desktop, choose View ❯ Clean Up By, then choose how you’d like to arrange the files
