Update and Troubleshoot applications in MacOS

Update apps: Open the App Store. In the sidebar click ‘Updates’. Click ‘Update’ next to an app to only update that app, or click ‘Update All’

Quit and re-open the app: Don’t just close the window, quit the app then re-open. If it won’t close and is frozen, try ‘Force Quit’

Force Quit: Click on Apple menu ❯ Force Quit, select the app then click ‘Force Quit’

Restart the Mac: Click on the apple menu then ‘Restart’

Uninstall and reinstall the app: Drag app icon into Trash from Applications folder. Restart the Mac then Google search for legitimate site to download the app if not in App store. In the Downloads folder double click the app download to install

Google search to see if there is a solution: Define the problem using the correct terms and carefully sift through the results
