Using the Files app on my iPad

Search for a file in Files on my iPhone: Tap anywhere in the top search box and start to type or tap on the microphone icon to speak. If the word is in the file name or text in the file, the file will show underneath

Files – See downloaded files on my iPad: Open the Files app and tap on the sidebar icon to see Files with ‘Downloads’ in the Favourites section. Tap on Downloads then tap on a file to open it

Empty the Recently Deleted folder in the File app on my iPhone: Open the Files app and tap on the Sidebar icon then tap ‘Recently Deleted’. Tap first ‘Select’ at the top then ‘Delete All’ at the bottom.The ‘Are you sure you want to delete x items?’ box will appear. Tap Delete

Open a file in Files on my iPad: Open the Files app and tap on a file to open. The file will open if there is an app on the iPhone for it

Share a file via Files on my iPad: Open the Files app and tap on one to open it. Tap on the square Share icon to share it. If you select email it will attach the file to an email in Mail

Work with files and delete them on my iPad: Open the Files app and tap on the sidebar then tap to see what is in ‘Recents’, ‘Shared’ and ‘Locations’. Tap on a file to open it. Touch and hold on a file to see the square ‘Share’ symbol which takes you to email or WhatsApp and more. Touch and hold on the file for a list of actions that can be done with the file including Delete
