Read a message in ‘Conversations’: Tap ‘Conversations’ in the Messages tab bar then tap on a message to open it. Scroll down to read older messages

Reply to a message: Tap in the message box below an open message then type or dictate text. Only send pictures if you have a network contract that includes MMS (Multi Media Messages) and be aware that they will not be received by a friend that has blocked these (as they can cost 50p each)

New message: Tap on the new message bubble, add recipient, type or dictate text then tap on the send arrow

Edit Messages: Tap on Edit and see options

Search messages: Tap on the magnifying glass search icon at the top then type the word or name you want to search for

Change Settings in Messages app: Tap on the three dots in the top right of each tab area (Conversations and Contacts) to see options. Tap on Settings and make useful changes
