Useful human interface elements – iPhone or iPad

List of useful human elements: Control Centre, Notification Centre, Spotlight search, Quick Actions menu (touch and hold), App Library, Today View

Control Centre: Control Center gives you instant access to useful controls including a torch, volume, screen brightness and the camera. To open Control Center either swipe down from the top-right edge, or swipe up from the bottom. To add and organise controls go to Settings ❯ Control Center and tap ‘+’ or ‘-’ next to a control to add or remove it. To rearrange, touch the horizontal lines next to a control and drag it to a new position

Notification Centre: shows your notifications history and can be seen by swiping down from the centre of the top of the screen. To close all notifications tap the ‘x’ close button then tap ‘Clear’. Tap on a notification to open it or swipe to the left to clear.

Spotlight Search: Swipe down from the Home Screen to search through apps, files, and the web

Quick Actions menu: Touch and hold to reveal useful options e.g. on an app icon

App Library: Organises apps inside folders to make it easier to find them and reduce clutter on the Home Screen. Swipe to the right find it on the last Home Screen

Today View: View widgets in Today View by swiping from right edge of the screen. Widgets show you current information from your favourite apps at a glance—today’s headlines, weather, calendar events and more. You can view widgets in Today View. You can also add widgets to your Home Screen on an iPad but not on an iPhone
